EMERGENCY WARNING - Big Jack Mountain (Bega Valley LGA)

An emergency warning is in place for the bush fire burning in the area around Rocky Hall and Mount Darragh.

Current Situation

The Big Jack Mountain fire is burning north of Rocky Hall.
Fire activity is increasing. Conditions are getting worse.
The fire is spreading quickly.
There is a threat to areas including Mount Durragh, Tantawangalo, Wyndham, Burragate, New Buildings and Rocky Hall.
Severe fire danger is forecast across south eastern NSW today. The Fire Spread Prediction Map for Saturday 1 February 2020 shows the areas where these fires may spread or experience embers if fires flare based on forecast conditions.
The Postmans Trail fire is burning to the north of this fire.
The Creewah Road, Glen Allen fire is burning to the north west of this fire.
Advice

Mount Durragh, Tantawangalo, Wyndham, Burragate, New Buildings and Rocky Hall

If you are in the areas of Mount Durragh, Tantawangalo, Wyndham, Burragate, New Buildings and Rocky Hall, you are at risk.
Conditions are getting worse.
Seek shelter if the fire impacts. Protect yourself from the heat of the fire by sheltering in a solid structure.
It is too late to leave.
Check and follow your Bush Fire Survival Plan and prepare for a bush fire in your area. If you do not have a plan know what you will do if the fire threatens.
Also monitor major fire updates for Postmans Trail fire and Border Fire.
