Emergency Warning - Creewah Road, Glen Allen (Snowy Monaro LGA)

A bush fire is burning in the Glen Allen area. The fire and has burnt more than 1400 ha is currently out of control.

Current Situation

A fire is burning in the area of the New Line Road and Creewah Road intersection in Glen Allen.
Fire activity has increased in the vicinity of Creewah Road and the Bombala River on the western side of the fire ground.
The fire is spreading in a northerly direction.
Firefighters are working with aircraft to slow the spread of fire.
Advice

If you are in the area of Creewah Road, New Line Road, Narrowness Road and Glen Allen area, seek shelter in a solid structure as the fire front approaches.
If you are threatened by fire

Do not be in the path of the fire.
Protect yourself from the heat of the fire. Wear protective clothing and footwear. Cover all exposed skin.
If the fire impacts, seek shelter in a solid structure to protect yourself from the heat of the fire.
If your life is at risk, call Triple Zero (000).
If you are in an area that has already been affected by fire, there may be small areas of active fire burning for some time. Be aware of the dangers of trees and branches falling.
