Watch and Act - Good Good fire (Snowy Monaro LGA)

There is a bush fire burning in the area of Jerangle and Peak View. The fire is currently 41,200 hectares and is out of control.

Current Situation

Today we are seeing dry and windy conditions, with Very High fire danger forecast for the area.
These conditions are increasing fire activity particularly in the Parkers and Peak View Road, Peak View areas.
Firefighters continue to work in these challenging conditions to slow the spread of fire and strengthen containment lines.
The Clear Range Fire is burning to the west of this fire.
Advice

If you are in the Parkers and Peak View Road, Peakview area, monitor conditions.
If you are in the area of Tuross, to the east of Tuross Road, monitor conditions.
If you are in the area north west of Peak View and in the Kybeyan and Numeralla areas , continue to monitor conditions.
Know what you will do if fire threatens.
If you are threatened by fire

Do not be in the path of the fire.
Protect yourself from the heat of the fire. Wear protective clothing and footwear. Cover all exposed skin.
If the fire impacts, seek shelter in a solid structure to protect yourself from the heat of the fire.
If your life is at risk, call Triple Zero (000).
If you are in an area that has already been affected by fire, there may be small areas of active fire burning for some time. Be aware of the dangers of trees and branches falling.

People with respiratory conditions who are affected by bush fire smoke should activate their health management plan and seek medical advice if necessary. Take precautions, such as staying indoors and closing windows.
