Watch and Act - Postmans Trail (Bega Valley LGA)

A bush fire is burning in the Postmans Trail area. The fire is currently more than 640 hectares in size and is out of control.

Current Situation

A fire is burning in the area west of New Line Rd, south of Cattlemans Track, north of Postmans Link Track and west of Tantawangalo in the South East Forests National Park.
Fire activity has increased under strong north westerly winds.
Firefighters are working with aircraft and heavy machinery to slow the spread of fire.
Severe fire danger is forecast across south eastern NSW today. The Fire Spread Prediction Map for Saturday 1 February 2020 shows the areas where these fires may spread or experience embers if fires flare based on forecast conditions.
The Creewah Rd, Glen Allen fire is burning to the west of this fire.
The Big Jack Mountain fire is burning to the south of this fire.
Advice

Tantawangalo, Candelo, Mogilla and Mt Darragh

Under forecast conditions, your safest option is to leave early. Consider relocating to coastal towns before conditions deteriorate
Know what you will do if the fire threatens.
