Watch and Act - Postmans Trail (Bega Valley LGA)

A bush fire is burning in the Postmans Trail area. The fire is currently more than 11,000 hectares in size and is out of control.

Current Situation

The Postmans Trail fire is burning east of Cathcart.
Firefighters continue working to slow the spread of the fire and protect properties in the area.
It is still not safe for residents to return to this area.
The threat to areas including Mount Darragh, Tantawangalo, Myrtle Mountain, Wyndham, Burragate, New Buildings and Rocky Hall has eased.
The Big Jack Mountain fire is burning to the south of this fire.
The Creewah Road, Glen Allen fire is burning to the north west of this fire.
Advice

Tantawangalo, Mount Darragh, Yurrammie, Candelo, Mogilla and surrounds

Check and follow your Bush Fire Survival Plan and prepare for a bush fire in your area.
If you do not have a plan know what you will do if the fire threatens.
Myrtle Mountain and surrounds

Be alert for embers that are being blown ahead of the main fire.
Embers can create spot fires and threaten properties before the main fire front arrives.
