Weather Situation: At 5:00 am CST, satellite imagery and Halls
Creek radar showed frequent thunderstorms moving across the Tanami
and southern Gregory Districts. A line of thunderstorms is also
moving across central Barkly District. These severe thunderstorms
are expected to continue this morning.
Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds and
heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding over the next
several hours in parts of the Gregory and Tanami districts.
Locations which may be affected include Lajamanu, Supplejack Downs
and Gregory District west of Daguragu.

next several hours in parts of the Barkly District. Locations which
may be affected include Renner Springs and Barkly District east of
Tennant Creek.
A wind gust of 89 kilometres per hour was reported at Rabbit Flat
at 9.36 pm CSTon Wednesday evening. Lajamanu reported a wind gust
of 91 kilometres per hour at 12.30 am CST this morning.
The Northern Territory Emergency Service advises that people
should:
* slow down and turn your headlights on
* create your own sandbags if there is flooding, by using pillow
cases or shopping bags filled with sand and place them around
doorways to protect your home
* secure loose outside objects
* ensure pets and animals are safe
* avoid remaining in the open when storms threaten
* pull over if it is raining heavily and you cannot see, park with
your hazard lights on until the rain clears
* avoid driving into water of unknown depth and current
* for emergency help in floods, storms and cyclones, contact the
