Flood Watch Number: 7

Deep tropical moisture is being drawn into the southern and western parts of the Gulf Country and is expected to continue to bring widespread showers and thunderstorms to the region for the next 24 hours.

Catchments across the Flood Watch area are saturated from recent rainfall with elevated river levels and minor to moderate flooding occurring in some areas.

Further heavy rainfall is likely to cause renewed river level rises and may prolong current flooding.

Flood Warnings are also current for catchments to the south of the Flood Watch area including the Georgina, Diamantina, Thomson, lower Barcoo, Bulloo, Paroo, and lower Warrego Rivers and Cooper Creek.

Catchments likely to be affected include:

Settlement Creek
Nicholson River
Leichhardt River
Cloncurry River

The following catchments are no longer included in the Flood Watch area: Norman River.
