Flood Warning Number: 5

Moderate flooding is possible at Wolfdene, Beenleigh and Beaudesert on Thursday evening.

Rapid river level rises have been recorded and are continuing at many locations across the Logan and Albert River catchments. Further river level rises are possible, as showers and storms with further heavy falls are forecast for the rest of Thursday.

Since 9am Wednesday, widespread moderate rainfall has been recorded across the Logan and Albert River catchments, with moderate to heavy falls of up to 100-150 mm recorded in the lower catchments. Since 9am Thursday there has been further 30-50 mm in places.

Localised flooding, including disruption to local transport routes are possible with the further heavy falls.
Logan River to Yarrahappini:

River levels are continuing to rise across the headwaters of the upper Logan River and further river level rises are expected with heavy rainfall.

The Logan River at Beaudesert is currently at 6.06 metres and rising. The Logan River at Beaudesert may reach the moderate flood level (7.80 m) Thursday evening based on forecast rainfall.
Logan River downstream of Yarrahappini:

Minor flooding is likely along the Logan River downstream of Yarrahappini.

The Logan River at Maclean Bridge is currently at 6.09 metres and rising. The Logan River at Maclean Bridge is likely to exceed the minor flood level (10.00 m) Thursday evening.
Albert River:

River level rises are continuing in upper reaches of the Albert River catchment and further rises are expected with heavy rainfall.

The Albert River at Wolffdene is currently at 4.00 metres and rising. The Albert River at Wolffdene is expected to exceed the minor flood level (6.00 m) early Thursday evening. The river level may exceed the moderate flood level (8.00 m) overnight Thursday into Friday based on forecast rainfall.

The Albert River at Beenleigh is currently at 1.17 metres and rising. The Albert River at Beenleigh is likely to exceed the moderate flood level (4.50 m) Thursday evening based on forecast rainfall.
