For people in parts of Central Highlands and Coalfields, Central
West, Channel Country, Maranoa and Warrego and Darling Downs and
Granite Belt Forecast Districts.

Severe thunderstorms are occurring over inland parts of
Queensland.
Weather Situation:
A humid and unstable airmass east of an inland trough is producing
thunderstorm activity, enhanced by an upper low resulting in the
potential for severe thunderstorms across inland parts of
Queensland this afternoon and evening.
Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds and
heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding over the next
several hours in parts of the Central Highlands and Coalfields,
Central West, Maranoa and Warrego and Darling Downs and Granite
Belt districts. Locations which may be affected include Roma,
Goondiwindi, St George, Barcaldine, Carnarvon National Park and
Mungindi.
Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce heavy rainfall that may
lead to flash flooding over the next several hours in parts of the
Channel Country and Maranoa and Warrego districts. Locations which
may be affected include Thargomindah, Cunnamulla, Hungerford, Eulo
and Barringun.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people
should:
* Move your car under cover or away from trees.
* Secure loose outdoor items.
* Never drive, walk or ride through flood waters. If it's flooded,
forget it.
* Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees.
* Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm.
* Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
