Weather Situation:

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds over the next several hours in parts of the Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders, Herbert and Lower Burdekin, Central Coast and Whitsundays and Central Highlands and Coalfields districts. Locations which may be affected include Collinsville and Clare.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding over the next several hours in parts of the Central Highlands and Coalfields, Central West, Channel Country, Capricornia, Wide Bay and Burnett, Maranoa and Warrego and Darling Downs and Granite Belt districts. Locations which may be affected include Roma, Charleville, Quilpie, Taroom, Tambo and Carnarvon National Park.

Severe thunderstorms are no longer occurring in the North Tropical Coast and Tablelands district and the warning for this district is CANCELLED.

61mm has fallen in 30min to 6.15pm at Jandowae (NW of Dalby)

55mm has fallen in one hour to 9.30pm at Bawnduggie (N of Chinchilla)

64mm has fallen in one hour to 2.15pm at Strathyre Rd (southeast of Millmerran).

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should:
* Move your car under cover or away from trees.
* Secure loose outdoor items.
* Never drive, walk or ride through flood waters. If it's flooded, forget it.
* Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees.
* Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm.
* Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
