Weather Situation:

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding over the next several hours in parts of the Central Highlands and Coalfields and Maranoa and Warrego districts. Locations which may be affected include Roma, Mitchell, Taroom and Injune.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding over the next several hours in parts of the Southeast Coast district. Locations which may be affected include Gold Coast, Moreton Island, Beaudesert, Coolangatta, Beenleigh, Cleveland, Jimboomba, Mount Tamborine, North Stradbroke Island and Springbrook.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding over the next several hours in parts of the Capricornia district. Locations which may be affected include Calliope and Miriam Vale.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should:
* Never drive, walk or ride through flood waters. If it's flooded, forget it.
* Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees.
* Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm.
* Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
