VERY DANGEROUS CONDITIONS WITH INTENSE RAINFALL OCCURRING AROUND
BIGGENDEN.
Weather Situation: An upper low is combining with a surface trough
to promote training thunderstorms. A Severe Weather Warning is
current for this area.
Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce intense rainfall that
may lead to dangerous and life-threatening flash flooding over the
next several hours in parts of the Wide Bay and Burnett district.
Locations which may be affected include Biggenden and Gin
Gin.
Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce heavy rainfall that may
lead to flash flooding over the next several hours in parts of the
Wide Bay and Burnett and Darling Downs and Granite Belt districts.
Locations which may be affected include Eidsvold.
Paradise Dam recorded 124mm in 1 hour to 12:45 am.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people
should:
* Never drive, walk or ride through flood waters. If it's flooded,
forget it.
* Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees.
* Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm.
* Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
