Severe thunderstorms continuing across parts of inland Queensland.

Weather Situation:

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds and large hailstones over the next several hours in the Channel Country and parts of the North West, Central West, Maranoa and Warrego and Darling Downs and Granite Belt districts. Locations which may be affected include Roma, Mount Isa, St George, Windorah, Camooweal and Mungindi.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds, large hailstones and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding over the next several hours in the Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders and parts of the Gulf Country, Herbert and Lower Burdekin, North West, Central Highlands and Coalfields and Central West districts. Locations which may be affected include Charters Towers, Georgetown, Hughenden, Richmond, Croydon and Pentland.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should:
* Move your car under cover or away from trees.
* Secure loose outdoor items.
* Never drive, walk or ride through flood waters. If it's flooded, forget it.
* Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees.
* Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm.
* Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
