The threat of severe thunderstorm activity remains over parts of inland southeast Queensland.

Weather Situation: A very moist and unstable airmass will interact with a strong upper trough to promote thunderstorm activity tonight and into Thursday morning.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds and large hailstones in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Toowoomba, Dalby, Gatton, Oakey, Lowood and Nanango.

A 93 km/h wind gust was recorded at Dalby 7:15 pm.

Giant hail around 5cm was recorded at Windera around 7:30 - 8pm.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should:
* Move your car under cover or away from trees.
* Secure loose outdoor items.
* Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees.
* Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm.
* Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
