Damaging winds developing about the ranges from Monday
afternoon.
Weather Situation: A low pressure system over the Great Australian
Bight and associated cold front will strengthen as they move
eastwards on Monday.
DAMAGING WINDS averaging 70 km/h with peak gusts in excess of 90
km/h are likely over far south east Queensland from Monday
afternoon and evening.
DAMAGING WINDS may extend further north to the Sunshine coast
hinterland overnight Monday.
Saturated soils in southeast Queensland bring an increased risk of
gusty winds toppling trees and powerlines.
Locations which may be affected include Warwick, Toowoomba,
Gatton, Boonah, Clifton and Laidley.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people
should:
* Move your car under cover or away from trees.
* Secure loose outdoor items.
* Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees.
* Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
