Severe thunderstorms are occurring north of the Severe Weather
Warning Area..
Weather Situation: A very humid and unstable northerly airstream,
ahead of a trough of low pressure over the east of the Northwest
Pastoral is leading to the development of severe
thunderstorms.
Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce heavy rainfall that may
lead to flash flooding and damaging winds in the warning area over
the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include
Mungeranie on the Birdsville Track.
The Severe Thunderstorm Warning for the Northwest Pastoral
district has been cancelled, but heavy falls may still be occurring
in the area covered by the Severe Weather Warning that is
cuurent..
Woomera recorded 34.4 mm in the 1 hour until 4.47 pm.
Marree recorded 36 mm in the 2 hours to 4.30 pm.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Secure or put away loose items around your property.
* Move cars under cover or away from trees.
* Keep clear of fallen power lines.
* Don't drive, ride or walk through flood water.
* Keep clear of creeks and storm drains.
* Stay indoors, away from windows, while storms are nearby.
