For people in Adelaide Metropolitan, Mount Lofty Ranges, Eastern Eyre Peninsula, Yorke Peninsula, Flinders, Mid North, Kangaroo Island, Riverland, Murraylands, Upper South East, Lower South East and parts of North West Pastoral and North East Pastoral districts.

Weather Situation: A rain band with embedded thunderstorms will move eastwards across the State today, associated with a cold front that is expected to reach Adelaide around midday, and into the North East Pastoral district late afternoon.

North to northwesterly winds will increase ahead of the cold front today. Damaging winds with gusts of 90 to 120 km/h are possible mostly associated with showers and thunderstorms and over elevated ground, ahead of and with the front.

Winds are expected to ease from the west following the front.

Locations which may be affected include Adelaide, Murray Bridge, Mount Gambier, Port Pirie, Maitland, Jamestown and Renmark.

Severe weather is no longer occurring in the West Coast and Lower Eyre Peninsula districts and the warning for these districts is CANCELLED.

Wind gusts of 80-87 km/h have been recorded over Eyre Peninsula this morning.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Move vehicles under cover or away from trees;
* Secure or put away loose items around your property.
* Stay indoors, away from windows, while conditions are severe.
