A band of heavy showers and a couple of thunderstorms developing over the Brisbane area.

Weather Situation:
The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 6:45 am, a band of heavy showers with possible embedded thunderstorms extends from near Brisbane Airport across Moreton Bay, and is moving towards the southwest. They are forecast to affect Brisbane CBD, Boondall, Enoggera, Aspley and Brighton in the next hour.
Heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding is likely.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should:
* Never drive, walk or ride through flood waters. If it's flooded, forget it.
* Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees.
* Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm.
* Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
