Flood Watch for parts of the Northern Rivers and Mid North Coast
in New South Wales

ISOLATED MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE IN THE TWEED, RICHMOND, WILSONS,
ORARA AND BELLINGER RIVERS FROM LATE MONDAY
A trough is located about the coast in the Northern Rivers with
significant rainfall expected about the far north coast. The
coastal trough is expected to shift offshore on Wednesday.
With forecast rainfall, isolated minor flooding is possible along
the Tweed, Richmond, Wilsons, Orara and Bellinger Rivers from late
Monday into the next few days.
Moderate to heavy rainfall has been recorded across the Northern
Rivers in the 24 hours to 9:00 am Monday.
Further moderate to heavy rainfall, is forecast in the Northern
Rivers for the remainder of Monday, with showers likely to continue
in the next few days.
This is a very dynamic situation, with high levels of uncertainty
in the timing and location of the heaviest falls. The Bureau is
continuing to monitor the situation and will provide updated advice
as required. Catchment specific warnings will be issued if and when
required.
Flood Classes (minor, moderate, major) are only defined for
catchments where the Bureau provides a flood warning service.

Wilsons Riverminor flooding
Richmond Riverminor flooding
Orara Riverminor flooding
Bellinger and Kalang Riversminor flooding

This Flood Watch means that people living or working along rivers
and streams must monitor the latest weather forecasts and warnings
and be ready to move to higher ground should flooding
develop.
Flood Warnings will be issued if Minor Flood Level is expected to
be exceeded at key sites along the main rivers for which the Bureau
of Meteorology provides a flood warning service.
Severe Weather Warnings will be issued or updated if very heavy
rain is forecast or observed.
