Flood Watch Number: 1

MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE ACROSS SOUTHERN INLAND PARTS OF QUEENSLAND FROM WEDNESDAY

A trough will move into southwest Queensland on Tuesday and move east across Queensland on Wednesday. The trough is forecast to bring moderate to heavy rainfall to the Flood Watch area from late Tuesday. Minor flooding is possible across the Flood Watch area from Wednesday.

Rainfall is also forecast to affect catchments outside the Flood Watch area and may cause renewed river level rises across catchments where flood warnings are already current, including Warrego, Paroo, Bulloo, Barcoo, Thomson and Cooper. Existing flooding may also be further prolonged.

Catchments in the Flood Watch area are relatively wet from recent rainfall and are likely to respond relatively quickly to further rainfall.

Localised river level rises and areas of flash flooding are likely within the areas of heaviest rainfall.

A Flood Watch is also current for New South Wales including the Border Rivers.

Catchments likely to be affected include:

Condamine Rivers

Macintyre River

Weir River

Moonie River

Balonne River
