Severe thunderstorms continuing across parts of the southeast and central Queensland this evening

Weather Situation: A trough extends over the southeast inland of Queensland with a warm, humid and very unstable airmass on its eastern side. moderately strong winds in the upper atmosphere will promote some organised severe thunderstorms over southeast of Queensland, including Brisbane.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Gympie, Biloela, Blackwater, Cooroy, Gin Gin and Imbil.

* Go inside a strong building now. Stay inside until the storm has passed.
