Severe thunderstorms are developing about the far north of the state this afternoon.

Weather Situation: A deep low pressure system is moving across the south of SA today, with a warm and humid airmass ahead of it, supporting the development of severe thunderstorms this afternoon and evening.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Dalhousie Springs and the Simpson Desert Conservation Park.

A separate Severe Weather Warning for damaging winds is also current for broad parts of the state. Please refer to http://www.bom.gov.a/sa/warnings.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Secure or put away loose items around your property.
* Move cars under cover or away from trees.
* Keep clear of fallen power lines.
* Stay indoors, away from windows, while storms are nearby.
