Severe thunderstorms continue moving across eastern SA.
Weather Situation: A deep low pressure system is moving across the
south of SA, with a warm and humid airmass ahead of it, supporting
the development of severe thunderstorms this evening.
Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds and
heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding in the warning area
over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected
include Marree, Arkaroola and the area east of Lake Frome.
Severe thunderstorms are no longer occurring in the Adelaide
Metropolitan, Mount Lofty Ranges, Eastern Eyre Peninsula, Yorke
Peninsula, Flinders, Mid North, Riverland, Murraylands and North
West Pastoral districts and the warning for these districts is
CANCELLED.
A 137KM/H GUST WAS RECORDED AT PORT PIRIE AT 7:11PM
A 129KM/H GUST WAS RECORDED AT OLYMPIC DAM AIRPORT AT
5:56PM.
A 113km/h gust was recorded at Tarcoola at 4:27pm.
A 109km/h gust was recorded at Leigh Creek at 8:12pm.
A 101km/h gust was recorded at Woomera at 5:47pm.
31.8mm was recorded at Donaleen in 60 minutes to 8:30pm
24.4mm was recorded at Freeling in 60 minutes to 8:30pm.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Secure or put away loose items around your property.
* Move cars under cover or away from trees.
* Keep clear of fallen power lines.
* Don't drive, ride or walk through flood water.
* Keep clear of creeks and storm drains.
* Stay indoors, away from windows, while storms are nearby.
