DESTRUCTIVE WINDS OCCURRING ACROSS THE NORTH WEST PASTORAL AND
FLINDERS DISTRICT.
Weather Situation: A deep low pressure system is moving across the
south of SA today, with a warm and humid airmass ahead of it,
supporting the development of severe thunderstorms this
evening.
VERY DANGEROUS THUNDERSTORMS are likely to produce damaging,
locally destructive winds and large hailstones over the next
several hours in the Flinders and parts of the Eastern Eyre
Peninsula, Mid North, North West Pastoral and North East Pastoral
districts. Locations which may be affected include Whyalla, Port
Augusta, Port Pirie, Hawker, Jamestown and Olary.
Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds and
large hailstones over the next several hours in the Eastern Eyre
Peninsula, Flinders, Mid North, Riverland and parts of the Yorke
Peninsula, North West Pastoral, North East Pastoral and Murraylands
districts. Locations which may be affected include Whyalla,
Renmark, Port Augusta, Port Pirie, Clare and Jamestown.
Severe thunderstorms are no longer occurring in the West Coast
district and the warning for this district is CANCELLED.
A separate Severe Weather Warning for damaging winds remains
current for a broad part of the state. Please refer to

A 129KM/H GUST WAS RECORDED AT OLYMPIC DAM AIRPORT AT
5:56PM.
A 113km/h gust was recorded at Tarcoola at 4:27pm.
A 101km/h gust was recorded at Woomera at 5:47pm.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Secure or put away loose items around your property.
* Move cars under cover or away from trees.
* Keep clear of fallen power lines.
* Stay indoors, away from windows, while storms are nearby.
