Severe thunderstorms moving across the east.
Weather Situation: A moist and unstable atmosphere combined with
an upper trough is producing thunderstorms across the east of the
state.
Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds, heavy
rainfall that may lead to flash flooding and large hailstones in
the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may
be affected include Moomba, Hawker, Innamincka, Arkaroola, the area
east of Lake Frome and the Strzelecki Track south of Moomba.
Severe thunderstorms are no longer occurring in the Adelaide
Metropolitan, Mount Lofty Ranges, Mid North, Murraylands and Upper
South East districts and the warning for these districts is
CANCELLED.
21.2 mm was recorded at Athelstone in 30 mins to 3:05pm
19.2 mm was recorded at Verdun in 30 mins to 3:05pm
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Secure or put away loose items around your property.
* Move cars under cover or away from trees.
* Keep clear of fallen power lines.
* Don't drive, ride or walk through flood water.
* Keep clear of creeks and storm drains.
* Stay indoors, away from windows, while storms are nearby.
