Damaging winds are possible about western parts of the State during Thursday morning and early afternoon.

Weather Situation: Strong and gusty north to northwesterly winds are expected on Thursday ahead of a front which is forecast to be near the WA/SA border mid Thursday morning before reaching Eyre Peninsula in the evening.

DAMAGING WINDS, averaging 60 to 70 km/h with peak gusts in excess of 90 km/h, are forecast in the warning area during Thursday morning and early afternoon, with the risk easing in the mid to late afternoon.

Locations which may be affected include Ceduna, Maralinga, Cook, Nullarbor, Fowlers Bay and Streaky Bay.

Severe thunderstorms are also possible across much of the west of the State. A separate Severe Thunderstorm Warning will be issued for these areas if required.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Move vehicles under cover or away from trees;
* Secure or put away loose items around your property.
* Stay indoors, away from windows, while conditions are severe.
