Damaging winds possible today over much of South Australia.

Weather Situation: A low pressure system will cross southern parts of the State today before clearing to the southeast on Friday morning.

DAMAGING WINDS averaging 60 to 70 km/h with peak gusts in excess of 90 km/h are forecast to develop across the warning area during the morning, most likely with showers and thunderstorms.

The risk of DAMAGING WINDS is expected to contract to the ranges about the Flinders and Mid North districts in the evening before easing early Friday morning.

Locations which may be affected include Whyalla, Ceduna, Marla, Coober Pedy, Roxby Downs and Leigh Creek.

Severe thunderstorms are also possible across parts of the State today. A separate Severe Thunderstorm Warning will be issued if required.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Move vehicles under cover or away from trees;
* Secure or put away loose items around your property.
* Stay indoors, away from windows, while conditions are severe.
