Damaging winds likely over the Adelaide foothills and adjacent areas early this morning.

Weather Situation: Damaging wind gusts are likely over the Adelaide foothills and adjacent areas early this morning, due to southeasterly downslope gully winds, which have developed under the influence of a strong overnight inversion.

Damaging winds, averaging 60-70 km/h with peak gusts in excess of 90 km/h, are forecast in

the warning area during the next several hours. The risk of damaging winds is expected to ease shortly after sunrise.

Locations which may be affected include Adelaide.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Move vehicles under cover or away from trees;
* Secure or put away loose items around your property.
* Stay indoors, away from windows, while conditions are severe.
