Toowoomba, Lockyer Valley, Sunshine Coast, Noosa and Western Downs
Council Areas.

Severe thunderstorms continue throughout the southeast.
The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 4:20 pm, severe
thunderstorms likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to
flash flooding, large hailstones and damaging winds were detected
near the area northwest of Esk, the area south of Noosa Heads,
Cecil Plains and the area northwest of Toowoomba. These
thunderstorms are moving towards the north to northeast. They are
forecast to affect Boonah, Noosa Heads and the area north of
Toowoomba by 4:50 pm and Kilcoy, waters off Noosa Heads and Crows
Nest by 5:20 pm.
63.0mm was recorded at Jordan St (near Caloundra) in the 30
minutes to 3:24 pm.
Emergency services advise people to:
* Park your car undercover away from trees.
* Close doors and windows.
* Keep asthma medications close by. Storms and wind can trigger
asthma attacks.
* Charge mobile phones and power banks in case the power goes
out.
* Put your pets somewhere safe and make sure they can be
identified in case they get lost.
* Do not drive now unless you have to because conditions are
dangerous.
* Tell friends, family and neighbours in the area.
* Go inside a strong building now. Stay inside until the storm has
passed.
