MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE FROM WEDNESDAY THROUGHOUT THE FLOOD WATCH
AREA WITH ISOLATED MODERATE FLOODING POSSIBLE FROM LATE
FRIDAY
A strong westerly airstream prevails, with a cold front embedded
in the flow moving over the state today. A warm front moves down
over Tasmania on Thursday and a series of cold fronts arrive Friday
morning, afternoon and Saturday afternoon.
Catchments across Tasmania are relatively wet from rainfall over
the last several weeks, and catchments will react quickly to
rainfall.
A series of fronts will cross Tasmania during this week, with
total accumulated rainfall likely to be greater than 100mm in parts
of these catchments.
Widespread minor flooding is possible throughout the flood watch
area from Wednesday with isolated moderate flooding possible from
late friday and across the weekend.

North Esk River
South Esk River
Meander River
Macquarie River
Ringarooma River
North Coastal Rivers
Mersey River
Forth River
Northwest and Central Coastal Rivers
Arthur River
Nelson Bay Coastal Rivers
Pieman River
King-Henty Rivers
Gordon-Franklin Rivers
Channel Coastal Rivers (South East Cape to Gordon)
Derwent River
Minor flood warnings are current for: Styx River and Huon
River.
