Issued Today at 4:22 PM.
This Watch and Act message is being issued for Biggara, Corryong,
Tintaldra, Tom Groggin, Towong, Towong Upper.
It is strongly recommended you Prepare to Leave.
There is a bushfire at 25Km West Of Walwa. The bushfire is out of
control.
The bushfire is travelling from Mt Lawson State Park with spotting
occurring east and south-east of the fire.
Properties within the warning area could be impacted.
A Relief centre is open at the Upper Murray Event Centre at the
Corryong Football Oval.
Prepare to Leave immediately. Leave as soon as you are ready, as
roads will become busy as people leave.
What you should do:
Monitor the situation. Increased wind speed, change in wind
direction, smoke or poor visibility can mean the situation is
worsening.
Have more than one way to get emergency information. Mobile phone
networks, internet services and electricity supply may be disrupted
or unavailable. To stay informed, have backup ways to receive
warnings, such as listening to local radio, checking community
notice points, or following instructions from emergency services on
the ground.
Tourists and visitors must pack quickly and leave the area
immediately. It will be too dangerous to stay at holiday locations.
Roads will become busy so tourists and visitors must go early so
roads can be cleared for when local residents evacuate after they
have collected their belongings.
Protect yourself and your family.
If you are not prepared, leave now. Don't wait until it is too
late - leave early.
If you are away from home, do not return.
If you are leaving, pack:
Cash
Clothing for three days
Medicine for three days
Phone and chargers

Meaningful items and photos
Pet essentials, including leash and carriers.
Check on your neighbours if it is safe.
Check the VicTraffic website for road closures.
